Tadeusz Kantor (born April 6,1915 in Wielopole Skrzyńskie, died. December 8,1990 in Cracow) - Polish painter and director, stage designer, art theoretician; from 1942 to 1944 he directed the underground Independent Theater, from 1955 the Cricot 2 Theater , where until 1975 he staged adaptations of the dramas of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz, followed by his own productions ofThe Dead Class (1975), Wielopole, Wielopole (1980) ,Let the Artists Die ( 1985), I Shall Never Return (1988 ),Today Is My Birthday (1991).
