SZANCER Jan Marcin (1902-1973) - Young woman in historical costume.
Watercolor on ark. 57.3x41.3 cm. Unsigned work. Editor's notes on the back giving the dimensions of the reproduction for printing. Good condition.
J. M. Szancer (1902 -1973) - painter, illustrator, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and its Paris branch. He exhibited since the 1930s. After the war, he was mainly engaged in book illustration, usually for children, theatrical, film and television stage design. He also practiced applied graphics. He is one of the most recognized and widely loved book artists.
