Paweł Steller [1895-1974] - visual artist, pupil of Władysław Skoczylas. Western critics called him "Polish" or "Silesian Dürer" (depending on sources), and Polish critics called him "Silesian Skoczylas". He lived and worked in Katowice from 1925 to 1974, and his works were honored at prestigious exhibitions in Poland, Europe and America. Steller was often compared to Rubens or Rembrandt. He left behind thousands of woodcuts, drawings, linocuts, lithographs and more. He also designed stained glass windows.
