Biography
He was a painter, cartoonist and caricaturist. Family connection to the Gierymski family (son of Maximilian and Aleksander's sister) which led him to participate in organizing Aleksander's exhibition at the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1902). Piatkowski's drawn knowledge of his artistic education indicates that he studied in Warsaw, which he soon had to discontinue due to the need to support himself. Thanks to the sale of part of Aleksander Gierymski's legacy, Kuczborski was able to continue his studies, this time in Cracow (Academy of Fine Arts, years 1901-7), where his teachers were Józef Unierzyski, Leon Wyczółkowski and Jan Stanisławski. Thanks to a scholarship awarded by the Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts, he was able to travel to Sweden for a few months in 1905; he may also have visited Italy that year. Having married in 1907, he left for Paris with his family. Having returned from the Seine, he settled in Warsaw. There he died as a result of an accident.
An important place in Kuczborski's ouvre was occupied by graphics. The artist took part in the realization of the famous "Teki Melpomeny" (together with Karol Frycz, Stanisław Rzecki and Witold Wojtkiewicz). He also took an active part in literary and artistic life. He is considered a co-initiator of the Zielony Balonik cabaret, in the work of which he took an active part.
