Stanisław Dawski (1905-1990) - studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He received his diploma in 1939 in the studio of Feliks Szczęsny Kowarski and Stanisław Ostoja - Chrostowski. From 1945, for the next 25 years, he was associated with the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw, of which he was a professor and, for a time, rector. He was involved in printmaking, painting, ceramic and glass sculpture. He took an active part in exhibition life. He had more than a dozen solo exhibitions at home and abroad (London, Sofia, Prague, Vienna, Berlin, Budapest, Tel-Aviv, Toronto, etc.) He was the recipient of many awards and prizes, among others: Art Prize of the City of Wroclaw, Art Prize of the Provincial National Council, medals of the Society of Friends of Fine Arts, medal at the 4th International Biennial of Exlibris in Malbork. He was an outstanding pedagogue - his student included Jozef Gielniak.
