Painter, student of the Drawing School in Vilnius. He continued his studies at the St. Petersburg academy until 1894.He then studied at the Académie Julian in Paris and in Munich, where he became friends with Jozef Brandt. He repeatedly visited Brandt in Orońsko. Around 1900 he came to Warsaw and stayed here until the First War. He spent the war in his hometown of Vilnius and in 1919 took up a job at the Fine Arts Department of Stefan Batory University there. He exhibited at Warsaw's TZSP and the Krywult Salon. The subjects of his paintings are usually genre scenes from picturesque borderland towns, his favorite motif was horse-drawn carriages. He also did portrait painting and made illustrations.
