Slawomir Khristov. Draughtsman, painter and graphic artist born in Varna. From 1992 to 1995 a student of Yavor Tsanev, a Bulgarian painter and printmaker. From 1996 to 2001 he studied at the Faculty of Graphic Arts of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He received his diploma in the woodcut studio of Prof. Zbigniew Lutomski. He has participated in many group exhibitions, both in Poland and abroad.
An artist who is open to the world of symbols and myths, in addition to his graphic work he also does painting, usually in the traditional technique of egg tempera, watercolor and gouache. In his work, he refers to archetypes and signs deeply rooted in our imagination, while combining many eras and cultures. Fascinated by the Italian Quattrocento and Mughal Indian painting, among others, he creates his own unique world, referring to the painting traditions of the East and West.
