SERBEŃSKI, Antoni (1886-1957) - The parish church in Ostrzeszów. Woodcut on paper 23.5x17 cm (composition), handwritten signature in pencil p. d.
Painter, printmaker and pedagogue, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow with Teodor Axentowicz and Leon Wyczółkowski among others, served in the Polish Army as a volunteer in 1919-1920, settled in Ostrzeszow in 1931, sentenced to labor during the German occupation for refusing to paint a portrait of Hitler. Opr. 37.5x32 cm, under glass, print on thin paper, approx. 3 cm paper crack in margin outside composition, several minimal paper cracks in composition.
