Here a sharp pencil cuts through the paper, not depicting an illusory space, but transforming the sheet in the most concrete way, breaking through the plane of the conventional image. The vestibule is a special construction, an object that refers to the phenomenon of temporary, symbolic, socially significant, yet everyday, non-functional and utilitarian architecture. It seems to me that by changing ordinary things a bit, we can bring them out of the status of "ordinary" into the zone of "art objects." The edge that turns paint into a painting, a thing into a ready-made or art object, is that minimal procedure, a small flipper movement that creates and sets in motion an art mechanism without the expenditure of gigantic efforts. In this work, that minimal change is tilt and scale. Of greater interest to me is not the slanted door system itself, but the void it frames. ... In the drawings, this impression is created and intensified by the breakthrough of the drawing.

Graduate of the St. Petersburg State Institute of Art and Design at the Department of Monumental and Decorative Painting /2009/, as well as the "School of the Young Artist" of the St. Petersburg Pro Arte Foundation /2012/. Creator (together with D. Petukhov) of the art group "Soap".
Winner of the "Innovations 2009" Award in the nomination "New Generation" (within the group "SOAP"). Award Winner. S. Kuryokhina, Prize of the French Institute / 2018 / for the project.
