Ryszard GIERYSZEWSKI (1936). Graphic artist associated with the Warsaw art community. From 1959 to 1964 he studied at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the studios of Aleksander Kobzdej and Andrzej Rudzinski. The artist is a member of the International Association of Wood Engravers XYLON in Switzerland. He has received numerous awards, including 2nd prize in the "Best Graphic of the Year 1977" competition in Warsaw, 2nd prize and silver medal at the 6th J. Gielniak National Graphic Competition in Jelenia Gora (1983), Grand Prix at the 4th Quadriennale of Polish Woodcut and Linocut in Olsztyn (1987). He has had about 20 solo exhibitions, his works are in the collections of, among others, the National Museum in Warsaw.
