Nowicki Romuald (1911-1987)- stage designer and graphic artist. Author of book illustrations, as well as set designs for television and theater productions. In 1951, he won third prize at the Festival of Polish Contemporary Plays for his set design for the play "A Thousand Brave" by Rojewski at the National Theater in Warsaw. His wife, Irena (1921-1990), was a stage designer and also developed costumes. Her studies at the School of Decorative Arts and Painting in Warsaw, which began in 1937, were interrupted by the war; in England, in 1946-48, she continued her studies in painting and printmaking; after returning to Poland, she graduated in set design (1949-50) at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts
