Mateusz Kolek (born 1981). Illustrator, cartoonist, author of murals working with newspapers such as: "Newsweek", "Gazeta Wyborcza", "Large Format", "Wysokie Obcasy", "Znak", "Przekrój", "Ivy", ESPN USA, "Sports Illustrated". In 2017 he began a series "Things I saw, but didn't have a smartphone," documenting the artist's several-month stay in Hong Kong; the series expanded with Tokyo and Krakow chapters and describing the experience of the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the album Alone Together, published in 2023 by the Hong Kong publishing house ZtoryTeller. He lives in Krakow. In 2024, you could enjoy his exhibition "Mateusz Kolek.Tangled States" at the Museum of Japanese Art and Technology.
