Biography
Earned a degree in graphic design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw under Prof. Janusz Stanny in 1976. His first works were comic strips for Relax magazine. Recall unforgettable (called cult titles by fans today), such as: "The Secret of Kip," "Five Steps Back," and "Konus." In turn, his mastery of mood manipulation can be seen in the album "Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde," which is undoubtedly one of the most interesting in his oeuvre. He also drew for the Sport and Tourism publishing house, where his "Judgment of Paris" was highly praised by critics. The comic illustrations to the rhyming stories by Jerzy Dabrowski entitled "The Forest Sports Club" may come as a surprise. "Forest Sports Club," where Szyszko departs from the realistic style. But this is only an episode, as since the early 1990s he has been involved in realistic illustration for books and magazines (publishers: Elipsa, Raniowski-Podsiedlik and sp., Nowa Era, WSiP, Demart, Bellona, Publicat, PWN, Presspublica), as well as popular board games. Many of his works can be seen in the popular exhibition "History of Poland according to comics" (an exhibit in the series "Four Seasons with Satire and Comics").
