Color lithograph; dimensions: 320 x 240 mm; unsigned.
Graphic from the album of lithographs "Marc Chagall's Lithographs" published in 1960 by Éditions André Sauret publishing house in Monte-Carlo. Between 1960 and 1974, Chagall prepared 28 lithographs for the six-volume "Lithographs Catalogue Raisonné."
Marc Chagall (1887-1985), an artist with Russian roots for many years associated with France, was described by art critic Robert Hughes as "the quintessential Jewish artist of the 20th century." Chagall's work spans almost every artistic medium. Influenced by the European modern artistic trends of the first half of the second century - Symbolism, Fauvism, Cubism and Surrealism - he developed his own distinctive style, combining avant-garde techniques and motifs with elements drawn from Eastern European Jewish folk art.
