The print "L'Apparition" is one example of Marc Chagall's long collaboration with Swiss art dealer and publisher Gerald Cramer (1917-1991).Cramer ran the Gerald Cramer Gallery in Geneva after the war and published illustrated books and prints by artists such as Joan Miro, Marc Chagall, Henry Moore and Max Ernst. His publications and exhibitions, especially by Miro, Chagall and Moore, have received international recognition. Catalogs of works by these artists are an "oracle" for collectors around the world. After his death in 1991, his son Patrik Cramer took over the publishing business and the running of the Gallery.
