[LUBLIN]. Lublin in Pohlen. Colorized copperplate form. 15.7x49.3 cm.
Panorama of the city by Gabriel Bodenehr, made circa 1710. The engraving was part of the album "Curioses Staats und Kriegs Theatrum in Polen" published in Augsburg circa 1730. The engraving was printed from two plates and the two sheets were combined. The title on a sash under the upper frame, in the upper corners, against the sky, the coat of arms of the Kingdom and the coat of arms of Lublin. In the lower corners, explanatory text in frames (on the left a list of 21 buildings highlighted on the board). Under the lower frame on the right a stenciled signature of the author. The view is a repetition - with slight changes - of the panorama of Lublin published by Georg Braun and Franz Hogenberg in "Civitates Orbis Terrarum" of 1618. Contemporary color. Good condition.
