Leon Wyczółkowski - painter and graphic artist, was born in Huta Miastkowska, a small village located in Garwolin county, on April 11, 1852, counting according to the Julian calendar then in force in the Russian partition. However, the archives of St. Florian's parish in Cracow have preserved a marriage certificate from his marriage in 1916 to Franciszka Panek, which lists April 24 next to the artist's date of birth. The document was drawn up based on the Gregorian calendar, which has long been used in most European countries.
