Biography
Mathematician, philosopher, painter and art theorist. Around 1903-04 he studied for half a year as a free student in the studio of Jozef Mehoffer at the Cracow academy. In 1913-14 he studied drawing in Paris. He was one of the founders of the Formists group formed in 1917 in Krakow. In 1922 he formulated his own "mathematical" theory of painting, the so-called Zonism. He exhibited in Krakow (solo exhibition in 1927) and Lviv (solo exhibition in 1934) During the Formist period he painted portraits, nudes, figural compositions and views of fantastic cities. He also painted portraits and compositions inspired by Futurist assumptions and children's works.
