Born in 1930 in Bogucice. Graduated from Cracow's Academy of Fine Arts and art history at Jagiellonian University. He is among the most prominent Polish artists involved in illustration, stage design and tapestry design. His artistic style is recognizable for its distinctive line, individual means of expression and painterly representation. The artist is characterized by his ability to synthetically reproduce the shape of an animal or landscape element with a few brush or pen strokes. Wilkon's inspiration is primarily nature: landscapes and animals.
