The Sejm in Warsaw was completed in 1928, the building referred to the patterns of clastic architecture. In the main Hall - the Sitting Room, it was planned to make a monumental painting on the presidential wall. In 1929, a competition for the design of the wall painting was established, in which as many as 28 projects took part. One of them was a design made by Jozef Mehoffer, which received ex aequo first prize along with the work of Ludomir Slendzinski. In the end, none of the designs was realized, numerous drawings, sketches and the oil design submitted for the competition survived.
