Biography
Janisch was a member of the avant-garde "artes" group of artists in Lviv. He studied painting with Zofia Albinowska-Minkiewiczowa and the State Industrial School with Kazimierz Sichulski. In the 1920s he went to Paris twice. During World War II, he lived in Cracow and later in Warsaw. He practiced painting inspired by Fauvism, and during the period of his membership in the "artes" group by Surrealism. He practiced oil painting, drawing, but also avant-garde collage and photomontage techniques.
