Lot description
Estimates: 8 319 - 9 507 EUR
pencil on paper, ca. 1869, 13.5 x 9.5 cm signed with monogram in lower right corner: "JM".

Most likely a preparatory study for the painting "Union of Lublin" of 1869. In the lower right corner of the composition there is a page in identical costume to the sketch and also holding a saber in his hands, but the young man in the final version of the painting has a different hairstyle (photo of the painting at the end).
