Unique work by Jacek Kawalerowicz, grotesque in nature, own technique, dimensions:32x 43 cm, 1980.
Jacek Kawalerowicz (1952 - 1989) Polish painter, graphic artist and illustrator, creator of numerous film posters. He was the son of renowned director Jerzy Kawalerowicz and painter Maria Güntner. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in 1977. In his painting work he used elements of the grotesque and caricature to comment on his contemporary reality. His works often feature eroticism, fantastic creatures and surrealist motifs. Kawalerowicz used simplification and geometrization, as well as a certain brutalization of representations. He willingly combined painting techniques, used fragments of contemporary newspapers and annotated his works with inscriptions, sometimes whole sentences. He participated in the 1980 International Poster Biennale in Warsaw. His works are in the collection of the Poster Museum in Wilanow.
