Graduate of the Department of Printmaking at the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw, diploma with distinction in printmaking in the studio of Prof. Waldemar Szysz, annex in easel painting under Prof. Andrzej Sadowski. She worked as an assistant at the Department of Workshop Graphics.
The artist creates large-format linocuts, all in black and white, using inspiration drawn from the natural world. Linocut is a graphic technique that requires great precision and patience, but also allows the artist to create very expressive spaces, using a variety of textures. The entire creative process, from design to completion, sometimes takes more than a month.
"The first stage of creating a print is to prepare an accurate design, then painstakingly translate it into a matrix on a scale of 1:1. This is followed by a lengthy process of cutting out fragments with chisels in linoleum, so that what is "selected" constitutes the white spaces on the print. Once the carving is complete, we begin the printing - applying ink to the matrix with a special roller, then the paper is applied and the whole thing is reflected on the press."
