Biography
Graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She lived and worked in Paris since 1907 and obtained French citizenship in 1926. She participated in many exhibitions since 1907: Salon d'Automne, Salon des Indépendats, Salon des Tuileries. She also presented her work in solo exhibitions at Paris galleries: Galerie Druet, Galerie d'art Contemporain, Galerie du Portique. The Polish accent in her work in France was her participation in the exhibition of Polish art at the Salon de la Société Nationale des Beaux-Arts in 1921. In Warsaw's Zachęta she showed her work at the Salon in 1913, in 1915 at a solo exhibition and in 1921 at an exhibition of Jewish artists. She painted mainly cityscapes of Paris and French cities. In 1925, she traveled to New York. Fascinated by it, she immortalized its sights in numerous oil works, pastels and lithographs published in the album "New York." She also painted atmospheric still lifes and sensitive portraits.
The artist's photograph comes from Sylwia Zientek's book "Polish Women in Montparnassus" (Agora Publishers, 2021)
