Hieronim Skurpski - writer, draughtsman, illustrator, museologist, painter, folklorist, graphic artist. In 1931-1936 he studied at the State School of Decorative Arts and Artistic Industry in Cracow, and then in 1937-1939 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the atelier of professors Mieczysław Kotarbiński and Aleksander Rafałowski. Paintings and graphic works of Hieronim Skurpski are in collections: "Ossolineum" in Wroclaw, the National Museum in Wroclaw, the National Museum in Warsaw, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Radom, the Museum of Warmia and Mazury and the Exhibition Office in Olsztyn, the Polish Center in London, the Museum in Roskilde in Denmark and in the author's permanent gallery in Nidzica. His works have been exhibited in many Polish cities: in Olsztyn, Bydgoszcz, Wroclaw, Torun, Lublin, Krakow, Gdansk, Szczecin, Rzeszow and Warsaw, among others at the Zachęta Gallery. Hieronim Skurpski has also exhibited his works abroad: in Aalborg, Copenhagen, Kaliningrad and Berlin.
