Gerd WINNER - painter and printmaker.
1956-1962 studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin, between 1961 and 1962 he was a student of Werner Volkert. Since 1964 he has worked as a freelance artist and illustrator in Berlin, and since 1974 he has been teaching as a professor of painting and printmaking at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He resides in Castle Baroque, which is located on the grounds of the former Liebenburg Castle, . In 2011, he became an honorary citizen of the "castle of love."
He has won many national and international awards for his artistic achievements. His works are exhibited in museums and galleries. In 1977 he took part in Documenta 7 in Kassel, organized by Manfred Schneckenburger.
