Black crayon, cardboard, 39 x 35.5 cm, signed l.d.: "A.Viollier". On the face, dedication by the author to his friend Jules Cougnard. A.Viollier is a Swiss painter, draughtsman and illustrator active in Geneva. This work was given to J.Cougnard (1855-1937) a Swiss banker, writer, poet, whose legacy is kept in the archives in Geneva. Also in that city, the author of this work as well as the recipient are street patrons. A shadow of the former passe-partoux, two old glue stains in the margin.
