As a conservative politician,Agenor Romuald Goluchowski enjoyed the trust of the Emperor, who entrusted him 3 times with the post of Governor of Galicia (1849-1859, 1866-1868, 1871-1875). The pinnacle of his political career was the assumption of the office of Minister of the Interior of Austria in 1859. He remained in this position until 1861 and tried then to increase the importance of the Polish language in courts and offices.
