Art Nouveau is a direction in art that developed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The peak of its popularity was in 1900, when the famous World Exhibition in Paris took place, promoting the main tenets of Art Nouveau. The name of the direction comes from the Latin word secessio, meaning "departure."
It is also the period in which we most often place the popular stylistic trend called steampunk - a cyberpunk set in the age of steam.
We present to you a hand-drawn sketch by a French designer, showing a clock, straight out of the era. It brings to mind the works of both Julius Verne and Herbbert George Wells.
Needless to say, a handwritten sketch of such a design is very rare.
Pencil sketch on paper, all framed with passe partout cardboard, and a wooden glazed frame.
