František Gross - Czech painter and printmaker born in 1909 in Nová Paka, graduated from the University of Applied Arts in Prague under Professor František Kysel.
The artist, along with his colleagues, sculptor Ladislav Zívr and photographer Miroslav Hak, was a member (until 1948) of Group 42. Group 42 was an association of artists trying to capture the poetry of technical civilization.
Gross's works are exhibited in many Czech public collections like the National Gallery in Prague, regional galleries and private collections, both in the Czech Republic and abroad.
