Felicja Pacanowska was born in 1907 in Lodz, and died in 2002 in Rome. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 1932 she went to Paris, where she became associated with artists from the Ecole de Paris circle. In 1946 she went to Italy to study sculpture. She participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions. By the 1950s she had already gained recognition from art critics. Today, her works are in the collections of museums in France, Italy, Switzerland, Denmark and Israel, among others.
