CHMURA, Piotr (1888-1981) - Pine tree ; 1932. etching 13x17.5 cm, on sheet 22x28 cm (fl.), signed by hand in pencil p. d. : Chmura P.
Painter and graphic artist, born in Krakow, probably studied art in Lvov and Krakow, in 1922 settled in Bydgoszcz, where he did pedagogical work, among others at the School of Artistic Industry, in 1938 returned to Krakow ; see Jaroslaw Mulczynski - Słownik graffików Poznania i Wielkopolski XX w., p. 68 (erroneously given date of death, also in other sources). In the lower margin under the composition l. d. handwritten (by another hand?) : Landscape [illegible] . Very good condition.
