Drawing in ink by Bronislaw Chromy is a work on study of his sculptures.

The work on paper measures:50x35 cm, signed by the artist.

He was born in 1925 in Leńczy near Lanckorona. After graduating from the High School of Fine Arts, he began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow. He received his diploma in 1956. He participated in numerous group and individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Thanks to his talent, indefatigable energy and industriousness, he created almost until the age of 90, and from under his hand came out works whose distinctive style makes them recognizable and unique. Bronislaw Chromy was an extremely versatile artist. His oeuvre includes monumental monuments and large outdoor sculptures, as well as small statuettes or medals. In his work, Bronislaw Chromy took up many subjects. Notable among them are sculptures on historical and martyrological themes ("Pieta Oświęcimska"), musical themes ("Chopin Monument"), cosmological themes (Copernicus, constellations and stellar systems) and animalistic themes (a very large group of sculptures from this group can be admired in the Author's Gallery of Bronisław Chromy in Park Decius in Cracow in Wola Justowska).

Among the unusual sculptures and monuments that have already permanently grown into Krakow's landscape, we should certainly mention the "Wawel Dragon" from the Vistula River, the "Fountain of the Players" from Wolnica Square, the "Owls" from the Planty, the "Sheep" from the square in front of the Agricultural Academy, as well as an unusual monument - the statue of the dog Dżok, a symbol of canine fidelity (located on the Vistula boulevards near Wawel). Animalistic themes are also taken up by the Professor in his usually strongly saturated in color and expression paintings. Bronislaw Chromy indulged in his passion for painting during his summer stays at the Summer House of Creative Work in Masuria. These summer open airs were crowned with exhibitions of paintings, held annually at his Author's Gallery. In the last years of his life, Professor Bronislaw Chromy made his debut as a writer by publishing an autobiography entitled. "Stone and Dream."

In March 2009, Professor Bronislaw Chromy was awarded the Gold Medal "Meritorious to Culture Gloria Artis". Bronislaw Chromy has participated in many group exhibitions. Since the 1960s, he has also presented his works at individual exhibitions. He also won many awards in competitions for monument designs.

Prof. Bronislaw Chromy's works can be found in the collections of, among others, the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Cracow, the National Museum in Poznan, the Museum of Medal Making in Wroclaw, the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom, the Silesian Museum in Katowice, and museums in Auschwitz, Paris, Copenhagen, Moscow, Skopje, Helsinki, Barcelona, Dijon, Ravenna, Hasselt, Bochum and Arezzo.
