A few words from the Artist:
This drawing is a vision of a landscape made of balloons. Their strings are held by people. When the balloon "matures", i.e. fills sufficiently with helium, it rises into the air and flies away. It is free.
This is kind of my metaphor for human life. We are born, learn different things, gather experiences, have different adventures, meet people, fulfill expectations.... And when we fill our soul with the right amount of all that our life consists of, we reach a point where suddenly something changes. We stop worrying about "what if," the opinion of others ceases to exert any pressure or influence on us. We start to live by our own rules, complexes disappear, we start to dress how we want, we start to do what we always wanted to do, but didn't have the courage, opportunity or it wasn't appropriate. We achieve such our private, inner freedom, maturity, full acceptance, and then we begin to live really, to live truly. This is how I think that these balloons are the souls of these people, which, when filled, are released and soar into the sky. And despite the weight of so many life experiences, they are as light as a feather.
