Andy Warhol, known for his portraits of cultural icons, also created a series of works dedicated to Swedish actress Ingrid Bergman. These portraits, created in 1983, exemplify Warhol's fascination with Hollywood stars and their images in mass culture. Warhol used three different images of Bergman: one from her role in the film "Casablanca" (1942), a second studio portrait, and a third from her role in the film "Gaslight" (1944). Each of these images was transformed by Warhol into a pop art icon by simplifying and intensifying the colors.
