Biography
In 1958-60 he studied architecture at the Wrocław University of Technology, and in 1960-61, as a free-lance student, he attended the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Warsaw. From 1961 he worked at the Polish Television as a prop and stage manager, and after his stories were published in "Współczesność", also as a junior editor. In 1962, he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw at the Department of Sculpture in Marian Wnuk's studio and Oskar Hansen's Studio of Solid and Plane Design, graduating in 1968. He was one of the most consistent avant-garde artists, and executed his thematically and stylistically consistent works in a variety of techniques, including painting, drawing, photography, poster art, and was also interested in literature and linguistics. His work often makes use of words, making his works close to conceptualism. Winner of the Katarzyna Kobro Award (2003) and the Jan Cybis Award (2006).
