crayon, ink, gilt, paper, 45 x 35 cm, signed p.d.: 'A. W. Rekowska | 2018'
The artist was born in 1990 in Włocławek, Poland. In 2014, she graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń. She paints her paintings using oil technique by gilding their surfaces with real flake gold. Thanks to the use of gilding, the works change depending on the lighting, which further distinguishes and enhances the artist's work. Her paintings are full of hidden symbols that enhance their narrative, while provoking the viewer to enter the magical world of the Artist. According to the Artist, a painting is not only supposed to impress with its technique - at the same time it is supposed to raise many questions, to remain in the mind of the viewer for a longer period of time. Selected exhibitions: 2017 - group exhibition "Galerie Athene", Drammen, Norway; 2018 - group exhibition "The Time" Gallery and Museum of Art "Temple of Dreams", Warsaw, along with works by Antonio Canova, Wojciech Fangor, Roman Opałka, Jan Lebenstein, Eugeniusz Eibish, Zdzisław Beksiński, among others; 2020 - group exhibition "Perception of the Circle", Baltic Sea Cultural Center, Old Town Hall Gdańsk, Kolobrzeg City Gallery.
