Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland in 1983, where she studied painting and drawing with Jerzy Duda Gracz. She has dealt mainly with painting. Her paintings have been presented at 20 solo exhibitions and dozens of group exhibitions at home and abroad. "In fairy tales, black or white magic awaits us. In Jurkovskaya's paintings, the spells are safe, because the fairy herself seems benevolent: she doesn't want to moralize or stigmatize, and makes the similar similar. The author captures in stillness the spontaneity of a sometimes invisible world."
