Student Theater "Kalambur" founded in 1957 by Boguslaw Litwiniec and Eugeniusz Michaluk. In 1967 Litwiniec established the International Open Theater Festival, making Wroclaw a mecca for young theater from around the world. "Kalambur" was also a publishing house promoting poets of the younger generation. It also ran the Gallery of Young Artists. In 1983, the "Under the Kalambur" cafe inaugurated its activities. Managed by Halina Litwiniec, it became a place for meetings and artistic events.
