Includes extensive introduction about the history of the institution and its collection of Polish posters, description and color reproductions of 357 posters, biographies of the artists, name index. The catalog includes 65 pre-war posters, 36 from 1940-1949, 237 postwar posters. A large part of the latter group consists of posters related to the activities of the Solidarity Trade Union and the introduction of martial law in 1981. The final chapter presents posters by foreign authors on Polish issues.
