KRZYSZTOFIAK Hilary - Poster design: Mrs. Warren's Profession. 1963.
Theater poster design form. 69.4x50.7 cm. Gouache, tempera on paper. Signature: "Hilary." Woman in costume from the turn of the 20th century. Poster for the play by G. B. Shaw staged at the Baltic Dramatic Theater in Koszalin and Slupsk (directed by N. Korsan, premiere November 6, 1963). On the back an official stamp stating that "the artistic side does not raise any objections". Information there that the artist spent 35 hours on the poster and was classified in pay group II. Good condition.
The catalog of the large monographic exhibition "Hilary (Hilary Krzysztofiak) 1926-1979. Painting and drawing" (Muz. Narod. w Warszawie, 1997) notes the presence of the artist, associated with Silesia and Warsaw, on the coast. In IX 1963, he participated in the First International Study of the Koszalin Plein-Air in Osieki, and it was probably then that he established cooperation with the Baltic Theater.
