Andrzej Dudzinski, a.k.a. "Dudi" (1945-2023) - cartoonist, graphic artist, painter, caricaturist and photographer.
Studied architecture at the Gdansk University of Technology, then interior design and graphic design at the State Higher School of Fine Arts in Gdansk. Graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. As a cartoonist, he debuted in 1970 in the pages of "Szpilek". The nickname "Dudi" comes from a series of drawings depicting a bird he invented. He also published his works in such magazines as "Poland", "Polityka", "Culture", "You and Me" and "Tygodnik Powszechny".
In 1977 he emigrated to the United States, residing in New York since 1980. Years later, he settled permanently in Warsaw. He has collaborated with a number of American magazines - "The Atlantic Monthly", "The Boston Globe", "Newsweek", "The New York Times", "Playboy", "Rolling Stone", "Time", "Vanity Fair" and "The Washington Post". He also did commissioned work for a number of companies - AT&T, Deutsche Telekom, IBM, Royal Bank of Scotland, as well as for PBS, a market and opinion research company. From 1982 to 1990, he taught at the Parsons School of Design in New York. He has had dozens of solo exhibitions of his work (including in Berlin, Düsseldorf, Geneva, Leipzig, Prague, Tokyo, Washington and numerous cities in Poland).
