T. Sygietyński (1896-1955) - composer and conductor, pedagogue, founder of the State Song and Dance Ensemble "Mazowsze".
L. Winnicki (1887-1935) - graduated from an agricultural gymnasium in Lviv, then studied architecture at the Technical University. For health reasons, he did not complete his studies. In 1910 he moved to Zakopane to the "Brotherly Aid" Health Home for students to treat tuberculosis there. His architectural and construction passions manifested themselves in his cooperation with architects, including Franciszek Mączyński in the construction of the Tatra Museum, Zygmunt Ostafin in the construction of the Teachers' Sanatorium on the Ciągłówka River. In 1914 he joined the Polish Legions, but due to poor health did not participate in the war effort. Between 1923 and 1930 he was president of the Legionnaires' Association in Zakopane; it was on his initiative that the Legionnaires' monument in the New Cemetery was erected in 1927. He was also a member of the PPS, but left the party after his election as mayor, adhering to the principle of non-politics for the rest of his life. Between 1929 and 1934 he was mayor of Zakopane, serving two terms. On October 18, 1933 he led to the granting of municipal rights to the city. He was the initiator of many municipal and cultural investments, including the creation of the Union of Friends of Zakopane on his initiative, a symphony orchestra conducted by Adam Furmanski (based in the hall of the "Morskie Oko"), the Committee for Sports Events (during whose term of office the construction of two stadiums on Równia Krupowa was achieved, which hosted International Hippie Competitions, FIS World Ski Championships, motorcycle races, field hockey matches). He lived in the villa "Bajka" - a wooden house built between 1914 and 1920 on the edge of Równia Krupowa. After his death, his wife Jozefa ran a boarding house in the villa until World War II. The boarding house hosted, among others, General Julius Rommel, General Władysław Anders. In 1937-1938 Krzysztof Kamil Baczynski, a friend of the mayor's daughter Ewa, stayed in the boarding house.
