On the reverse in cobalt in underglaze: 1279 above the shield with the inscription Makkum, H.C., JV. Paper sticker: Algemene Vereniging Aardewerk Industrie
The manufactory has been in operation since at least 1572, and produced only decorative items since 1890. This is a repetition in a multicolor version of a design from the turn of the 20th century.
