Biography
Lidia Krawczyk is a graduate of the Institute of Audiovisual Arts (1999-2004) and Postgraduate Gender Studies (2003-2004) at Jagiellonian University. Media scholar, cultural critic, photographer. She works on feminist criticism and contemporary art. She is a contributor to the online scholarly journal "uniGENDER" and also edits teksty.bunkier.com.pl. Wojtek Kubiak is a graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow (1999-2004, diploma with honors under Prof. Adam Wsiolkowski), where he has been an assistant since 2003. In 2004, he was awarded the Grand Prix in the second edition of the Marian Michalik Triennial of Young Painting in Częstochowa. He was awarded the Scholarship of the Minister of Culture (1999, 2003/2004), the Scholarship of the Mayor of the City of Cracow (2005), the Grazella Scholarship (2007) and the Young Poland Scholarship (2008). He was nominated for the 7th Eugeniusz Geppert Competition and the "Arteon" award (2005). They have been working as a duo since 2004. Their realizations are mainly paintings, installations, photographs and videos, in which they address issues of gender, sexuality, social power structures and hegemony.
