LEWKOWICZ, Leon (1888-1950) - Portrait of a Jewish boy. Oil on canvas 27x22.5 cm (light frame), signed l. d. : Leon Lewkowicz.
Studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow under the direction of Teodor Axentowicz, was a member of the Jewish Society for the Promotion of Fine Arts, exhibited many times at the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Cracow and Lvov, during WWII he was deported to Kazakhstan, where he died. Portraits were among the artist's favorite motifs. Very good condition, binding 36.5x32 cm.
