Jan Tarnowski, born in 1937 in Novogrudok to a noble family expelled from Minsk. Since 1946 in Szczecin. Graduate of the Szczecin University of Technology. In 1958-71, activist of Fr. A. Siwek's preopposition group within the academic pastoral in Szczecin. Since 1976, collaborator of ROPCiO. Active activist of Solidarity structures. On December 13, 1981 interned first in Goleniow prison, later in the camp in Wierzchow.
