A. Zakrzewski (1892-1958) - colonel of cavalry of the Polish Army. From 1917 he served in the 3rd Cavalry Regiment as part of the I Polish Corps in Russia, from 1920 deputy commander of the 14th Cavalry Regiment. After the end of the war in 1920 he was sent to a course in Grudziądz. From III 1926 deputy commander of the 3rd Silesian Lancers Regiment. Until spring 1929 deputy commander of the 10th PSK. From April 11, 1929 to July 12, 1937 commander of the 1st Horse Rifle Regiment in Garwolin. Until VIII 1939 deputy commander of the Pomeranian Cavalry Brigade, later its commander. After the capitulation, he headed the Evacuation Office for Polish prisoners of war in Hungary. From 24 XI 1940 to 1 XII 1941 he commanded the 7th Cadre Rifle Brigade. Awarded many times: Silver Cross of the Order of War Virtuti Militari, Cross of Independence, Order of Polonia Restituta Cl. IV, Cross of Valor - four times, Gold Cross of Merit, Médaille Interalliée Medal.
Fr. A. Berenson (1892-1939) - cavalry officer of Jewish descent. He served in the 1st Regiment of Legion Lancers, was an officer in the 1st Cavalry Regiment of J. Pilsudski and the 1st Horse Rifle Regiment. From 1 I 1928, he was appointed rotamaster in the Cavalry Officers Corps with rank 36 and in the 1st Horse Rifle Regiment in Garwolin, where he served as deputy commander. During the September campaign, already as a major, he fought in the ranks of the 12th Podolski Cavalry Regiment. He fell in battle on September 14. He rests in a mass grave in the military cemetery quarters in Wiązowna near Warsaw. Awarded the Cross of Valor (three times), the Cross of Independence, the Silver Cross of Merit, the Medal of the Tenth Anniversary of Regained Independence, the Medal for the War of 1918-1921, the badge for "Faithful Service".
N. Witczak-Witaczynski (1898-died 1942) - photographer, documentary filmmaker of the stature of Witold Pikiel, though little known. He published his photos and articles in "Wiarus", "Je¼dziec i Hodowca", "Polska Zbrojna", "Ilustrowana Kurier Codzienny", "Księga Jazdy Polskiej", among others. Member of the editorial board of "Wiarus". Soldier of the Pulawski Legion, the 1st Lancers Regiment of the 1st Corps in Russia, the 1st Krechowiec Lancers Regiment, a squadron of the Chief of State, the 1st Cavalry Regiment, the 1st Horse Rifle Regiment, head of the squadron of the President of the Republic of Poland, participant in the charge at Krechowce. He died at Majdanek.
