Biography
Graduated in physics from the A. Mickiewicz University in Poznan. Experimental photography artist classified as neo-avant-garde, animator and theoretician of photography. His figure is associated with the concepts of intermedia and postmedia photography. The author of dozens of solo exhibitions, since 1956 he has participated in about a hundred collective exhibitions, including prestigious presentations at home and abroad. In a ranking of the best exhibitions of Poznan artists since 1989, his 1999 retrospective exhibition "Cracks - towards simulation" was ranked in the top ten. Author of numerous theoretical statements related to photography, including the script "My Theory of Photography". Curator of dozens of important exhibitions, symposiums and workshops, including those of international scope. Initiator of higher studies in photography in Polish art education. Since 1978, he has been working at the University of Arts in Poznan (formerly PWSSP and ASP). He is currently the head of the Computer Photography Studio at the same university. He has received a number of honors, awards and distinctions of great importance, including international ones. He is a recipient of, among others, the Scholae Bene Merito medal of the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań and the Gloria Artis Gold Medal for Meritorious Service to Culture. Currently in the composition of the Chapter of the Art Award of the City of Poznan. His creative silhouette has been described in numerous texts, including high-ranking biographical publications, such as "Contemporary Photographers", "Who`s Who in the World" or "Golden Book of Polish Science 2006 - Scientists of United Europe".
